Pitching Green
WHY “PITCH GREEN?”
Buildings are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. They consume up to one-third of all
the energy we produce. In Alberta’s two major cities, that figure rises to 40 per cent in Edmonton and
62 per cent in Calgary (2016).
Alberta’s architects can have a real impact on the environmental footprint of the buildings they design
by convincing their clients of the benefits of “building green.”
To enhance this impact, the CAA has launched Pitching Green, a project to…
- increase awareness and commitment to green architecture among Alberta architects and
building sector stakeholders; and, - educate and equip Alberta architects to pitch their clients on green building strategies and
practices.
The CAA acknowledges with gratitude the support of Alberta Economic Development and Trade for the
grant funding for this project.
