On the ongoing the path to Reconciliation, the RAIC will commemorate the 2023 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation through a two-part webinar series of events during the week of September 25-29, 2023. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
These open access webinar sessions are created in partnership with the RAIC’s Indigenous education provider NVision. Sessions are free and pre-registration is required. Please feel free to share among your colleagues and other networks. Each webinar qualifies for 1.5 AIBC Core LU and is eligible under the Indigenous Peoples Learning requirement. These commemoration events are funded in part by the Government of Canada. The RAIC is grateful for and honours the generosity of the members of the RAIC Truth and Reconciliation Task Force and Indigenous Task Force. The RAIC is committed to continued action along this journey together.
Part One: History and Context When: September 26, 2023 / 10:00am-11:30am Pacific Time Where: Online, virtual The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
