CAA … working on your behalf (Jan 2017)
Happy New Year!
2016 was a good year for the Consulting Architects of Alberta (CAA). We developed and strengthened effective working relationships with several key organizations, such as Alberta Infrastructure, Alberta Health Services, the City of Calgary and the City of Edmonton, to name a few. Working together, we have argued for and achieved success in improving contracts and contract wording.
We have also alerted these clients to issues that impact architects in Alberta and have stressed the importance of keeping the architectural community in Alberta alive and working!
The start of a new year didn’t change anything. Rather, we just continued where we left off and are already working to effect more change that benefits our profession.
One very recent example of successful industry collaboration is the CAA’s Procurement and Contracts Committee’s diligence in achieving changes to the Alberta Health Services contracts.
We are continually being asked to participate in a variety of very critical, industry impacting discussions and governmental decisions making initiatives like “Social Procurement Policy,” weighting of fees in RFPs, Scope and Fee Analysis, Consultant Score Cards and many more.
If you are interested in opportunities to be more involved in your association, please feel free to contact Linus Murphy, CAA Chair or Jayne Jeneroux, CAA Executive Director.
