Over the past few years, the CAA, through its Procurement and Contracts Committee, and Alberta Health Services (AHS) have been meeting to review the Prime Consultant Agreement utilized by AHS for AHS managed design and construction projects. We are pleased to advise that the discussions to date have resulted in an updated and refreshed AHS Prime Consultant Agreement.


Due to AHS’ unique legislative and policy framework, not all the proposed modifications presented by CAA could be incorporated, however, the adjustments do reflect an improvement toward a more equitable allocation of the risks and responsibilities which the CAA feels are a positive move toward a fairer Agreement. CAA and AHS are committed to continuing to work together to address remaining issues and to continuing to work on future recommendations and resolutions as issues may arise.


The recently updated document is being put into circulation for all new opportunities issued by the AHS Design & Construction Project Management teams across Alberta.
